Protected electronic box
Weatherproof and one button operation
TERRATEST® equipment has a lifetime of 20 years even when it is used under hard conditions in construction site every day Rain, dust and sand are not the best friends of electronic components.
Rain, sand and dust affect the printer, display, USB interface, power battery and GPS system for years.
During the development of its Light Weight Deflectometer, TERRATEST® ensured that the electronic measuring computer had maximum protection against dust, water, sand and mechanical influences and installed it in the weatherproof ROBUSTA electronics box. ROBUSTA has a cover with a large, impact-resistant viewing window and a vandal-proof external button to operate the device. The device is then operated using the external button, while the cover always remains closed on the construction site. The measurement electronics are thus protected to the maximum extent against adverse construction site conditions.
ROBUSTA is made of polypropylene twin-wall panels with aluminum profiles. These materials are characterized by their low weight, high stability, very good weather resistance and extreme durability.
The measuring electronics ROBUSTA has been tested according to IP protection classes. The suitability for outdoor use of the devices is underlined by the protection factor classified as IP 53. TERRATEST® devices have been certified by TÜV Rheinland with the TÜV GS mark.
Incidentally, cheap handheld devices in a plastic housing only have a protection factor of IP20 and are therefore not suitable for permanent outdoor use under construction site conditions, let alone for a service life of 20 years.
